Aramean people: Aramean people (not to be confused with ‘Armenians’) speak Aramaic, the language spoken by Abraham, Moses and Jesus. They are the indigenous people of what was called in ancient times Aram- Nahrin, in our days it is called ‘Mesopotamia’.

Some Arameans today identify themselves with “Assyrians”, because of the spiritual colonial hate generating activities of the Western missionaries and diplomats in the Middle-East in 16th and 19th centuries. Other Arameans became known as “Chaldeans”. However all of them are Arameans.In Turkey, the Arameans are called: Süryani. In Arabic they are called Al- Suryan.

Letter of recommendation

When we decided to establish the Arameans of Aram-Naharaim; the president discussed this with his Grace on which fundament the organization should be established. We proposed to His Grace to establish the fundament of the organization on the famous and the brilliant Historians of the Syrian Church of Antioch. And so we did lay down in the statutes of Aram-Naharaim. His Grace was extremely enthusiastic about our organization. On 29-6-2004 we organized a meeting in the St. Afrem Monastery which he attended and listened to our principals carefully. We also handed over to him the complete statutes of our organization and he read it carefully.

Based on what His Grace heard, read and analyzed regarding the Aram-Naharaim Organisation; he wrote a letter of recommendation.

Friedensgrüße, Gebete und Segen übermitteln wir Euch und sagen:

Letztes Jahr, am 29.06.2004, wurde die Satzung dieser Organisation „ARAM-NAHARAIM“ im Saal DOLABANI des Klosters Mor Ephräm vorgelesen, in unserer Anwesenheit und der Anwesenheit vieler Gläubigen der syrisch-orthodoxen Kirche, die ihre syrische Kirche und ihre syrische Kultur lieben. Wir haben festgestellt, dass es in der Satzung nichts steht, wogegen die Syrische Kirche angerichtet ist. Diese ist eine Organisation, die sich für die Menschenrechte und die kulturellen Angelegenheiten einsetzt.

Der Vorsitzende dieser Organisation ist Gabriel Sengo, der offiziell seit Jahren in dem schweizerischen Genf die Politiker aus aller Welt über die Aramäer unterrichtet. Er informiert dort über die Geschehnisse und die Massaker, die im letzten Jahrhundert im Mittleren Osten über die Suryoye-Aramäer hereinbrachen.

Darum teilen wir mit diesem Schreiben/Brief den Angehörigen unserer segensreichen Diözese mit, dass wir großes Vertrauen auf die Organisation „ARAM-NAHARAIM“ haben, dass sie sich für die Menschrechte und kulturelle Angelegenheiten unserer syrisch-orthodoxen Kirchenangehörigen einsetzt.

Vredesgroet, gebed en zegen brengen wij aan jullie over en zeggen:

Laatst jaar, op 29.6.2004, werden de statuten van deze organisatie,, Aram-Naharaim“ in de zaal Dolabani van het klooster Mor Afrem voorgelezen in onze aanwezigheid en de aanwezigheid van vele gelovigen van de Syrisch Orthodoxe kerk, die hun Syrische Kerk en cultuur liefhebben. Wij hebben vastgesteld dat er in de statuten niets staat die tegen de Syrische kerk is gericht. Deze is een organisatie die zich inzet voor Mensrechten en Culturele aangelegenheden.

De voorzitter van deze organisatie is Gabriel Sengo, die officieel sinds jaren in de Zwitserse stad Genève de politici van de hele wereld informeert over de Arameeërs . Hij informeert daar over de gebeurtenissen en genocide, die in de laatste eeuw in het Midden-Oosten over de Syrisch- Arameeërs zijn gebracht.

Daarom delen wij U, de gelovigen van onze zegenrijke Diocees mede, met dit schrijven dat wij grote vertrouwen hebben in de organisatie,, Aram-Naharaim“ die zich inzet voor de Mensenrechten en culturele aangelegenheden van onze Syrische- orthodoxe kerkleden.

On the Aram-Naharaim organization

Peace, prayer and blessing be with you and we say:

Last year, on 29.6.2004, the statutes of the ,,Aram-Naharaim” organization were discussed in the Dolabani Saloon of the St. Afrem Monastery in our presence and the presence of many faithful of the Syrian Orthodox Church, who love their church and culture.

We have come to the conclusion that there is nothing in the statutes which is aimed against the Syrian Orthodox Church. These organization works for cultural and Human Rights matters (of our people).

The Chairman of this organisation is Gabriel Sengo, who officially since years informs in the Swiss City of Geneva the politicians of the world about the Arameans. He informs there about events and genocide, which in the late century were brought down onto the Syrian- Arameans.

For this reason we inform you, the faithful of our auspicious Diocese, by this writing that we have a great confident in the ,,Aram-Naharaim” organisation which works for the Human Rights and Cultural matters of our Syrian – Orthodox church members.

Nous vous présentons nos salutations, prières et bénédictions et disons:

L'année dernière en date du 29.06.2004, les statuts de cette organisation "ARAM-NAHARAIM “ont été lu, dans la salle DOLABANI du monastère Mor Ephrem, en notre présence et en celle de beaucoup de fidèles de l'Eglise Syriaque Orthodoxe, amis de leur Eglise et de la culture Syriaque. Nous avons constaté qu'il n’y a rien, dans ces statuts, qui va à l’encontre de l’Eglise Syriaque Orthodoxe. Au contraire, c'est une organisation qui lutte pour les droits de l'Homme et la préservation du patrimoine syriaque.

Le président de cette organisation, Gabriel Sengo, informe officiellement le monde politique au sujet des Araméens à Genève (Suisse) depuis de nombreuses années. Il les informe au sujet des événements et des massacres (dont le génocide de 1915) que les Araméens (Syriaques) ont enduré le siècle dernier au Moyen-Orient.
