Some journalists are honest, ethical and want to do their work professional and independent. Mr. Ali Hashem, a correspondent of Aljazeera, was one of this ethical journalists. To his dismay he discovered that his bosses were not interested in independent and honest news coverage resulting in his resignation. In an interview with the Russian Satellite Channel RT entitled, “No independent journalism anymore’ – ex-Al Jazeera reporter “, he amongst others says:

“There is no independent media anymore. It is whose agenda is paying the money for the media outlet,” he said. “Politicization of media means that media outlets are today like political parties. Everyone is adopting a point of view, fight for it and bring all the tools and all the means they have in order to make it reach the biggest amount of viewers.”

Correspondent Alex Thomson of Channel4 tried to check the facts on the ground in Syria. What he discovered however was that the “rebels” tried to lure him into a trap hopping that the Syrian Army would kill him enabling them to discredit Assad government.

4. The “mistake” of BBC and the massacre in Houla.

The second example of disinformation is the “mistake” of BBC concerning slaughtering of Houla.

On 25^th of May 2012 a horrible massacre took place in Houla whereby men, women and children brutally were killed. The Western media immediately accused Assad government for this atrocity. And many Western countries used this event as excuses to stop diplomatic ties with Syria.

To attract extra attention to the terrible event of Houla, the BBC placed a photo of killed bodies of children on their website. Later however, it was discovered that this was a photo from 2003 Iraq- war.

The owner of the photo, Mr. Marko Di Laura, stated, “Somebody is using my images as a propaganda against the Syrian government to prove the massacre.” Di Lauro told the London Telegraph he was “astonished” the BBC had failed to check the authenticity of the image.

“What I am really astonished by is that a news organization like the BBC doesn’t check the sources and it’s willing to publish any picture sent it by anyone: activist, citizen journalist or whatever. That’s all,” said Di Lauro.

What caption BBC had put under the photo? We, read, “The caption used by the BBC to describe the image stated that the picture was provided by an activist and “believed to show the bodies of children in Houla awaiting burial”.

What a heinous and absolutely objectionable form of deceit! And please also take in consideration the thousands of deaths that will fall when the West decide to invade Syria in order to remove Assad. 5. The massacre of Houla- Who is responsible?

More than 108 people were killed with the massacre of Houla, among them: 49 children and 34 women.

Who did it?

Immediately after the bloodbath of Houla, the mainstream media accused the Syrian government of the atrocity. Western countries used this event to further isolate Syria and justify the path of military intervention.

Who benefited most if we look at the media attention?

* It is important to underscore the diabolical nature of these killing operations, which are casually blamed on the Al Assad government. They constitute a central component of US-NATO war propaganda. They are intended to trigger "a helpful wave of indignation" against the Al Assad government, thereby harnessing public support for a military intervention on humanitarian grounds. This decision --coordinated by the US State Department-- was apparently planned well in advance of the Houla massacre: "The United States joined several other nations in expelling a senior Syrian diplomat in response to the massacre of more than 100 men, women and children in the Syrian village of Haoula on May 25.... State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said May 29 that the responsibility for the massacre rests “firmly at the feet of the Assad regime” and its militia group, the Shabiha."

* If the Al Assad government is not behind the massacre, what actions should be taken against those who ordered this massacre? Western governments (US, France, Britain), with the support of Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the prime suspects.

* Mercenaries and death squads including al Qaeda affiliated militia were dispatched to Syria as part of a covert intelligence operation. Special forces from several Western countries are acting as military advisers on the ground inside Syria.

* What we are dealing with is a criminal undertaking in blatant violation of international law. Those who ordered the killings are the self proclaimed members of the international community.

Conclusion: The committers of the atrocity of Houla achieved following objectives, namely: 1) discrediting government of Assad, 2) Isolating Syria, and 3) Preparing the international community for military intervention in Syria as they have done in Libya.

US-Backed Rebels Committing Christian Genocide In Syria

Christians are being systematically targeted for genocide in Syria according to Vatican and other sources with contacts on the ground among the besieged Christian community. According to reports by the Vatican's Fides News Agency collected by the Centre for the Study of Interventionism, the US-backed Free Syrian Army rebels and ever more radical spin-off factions are sacking Christian churches, shooting Christians dead in the street, broadcasting ultimatums that all Christians must be cleansed from the rebel-held villages, and even shooting priests.

French Bishop Philip Tournyol Clos, a Greek-Catholic Melkite Archimandrite, traveled through Syria and, according to the Holy See's press agency, reported back that Western press was spreading disinformation about the real nature of the uprising in Syria and thereby prolonging and deepening the conflict. Reported Bishop Clos:

In Homs, "opposition forces have occupied two areas, Diwan Al Bustan and Hamidieh, where there are all the churches and bishoprics. The picture for us is utter desolation: the church of Mar Elian is half destroyed and that of Our Lady of Peace is still occupied by the rebels. Christian homes are severely damaged due to the fighting and completely emptied of their inhabitants, who fled without taking anything. The area of Hamidieh is still shelter to armed groups independent of each other, heavily armed and bankrolled by Qatar and Saudi Arabia. All Christians (138,000) have fled to Damascus and Lebanon, while others took refuge in the surrounding countryside. A priest was killed and another was wounded by three bullets."

Mother Agnes Miriam of the Cross, Mother Superior of the Monastery of St. James at Qara in the Diocese of Homs, was interviewed (MP3) on Irish Radio this week where she confirmed that the opposition rebels in Syria were terrorizing Syria's Christian community.

Asked whether it was the Free Syrian Army that was telling Christians to get out, Mother Agnes Miriam answered "Yes...it was commander on the ground Abdel Salam Harba who decided that there was to be no more negotiations with Christians." She said that Christians are being targeted because they are refusing to back the rebels and instead prefer to keep out of either side of the conflict. She said that the rebels are specifically targeting government troops in Christian areas and are taking Christians as human shields.

Shockingly, the once Catholic-friendly National Review, which to its credit broke the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung story that the Houla massacre was carried out by the rebels, published a piece by writers affiliated with Daniel Pipes's Middle East Forum and the Israel-based GLORIA Center ridiculing the Catholic Mother Agnes Miriam as an Assad propagandist.

These "journalists" attacked Mother Agnes for asserting that the rebels were carrying out a foreign backed conspiracy to overthrow the Assad government in Syria. Should we wait for these two neo-conservatives to ridicule and attack the Wall Street Journal, which reported this week that:

"...the Central Intelligence Agency and State Department—working with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and other allies—are helping the opposition Free Syrian Army develop logistical routes for moving supplies into Syria and providing communications training.

"U.S. officials also are considering sharing intelligence with the Free Syrian Army, or FSA, to allow the rebels to evade pro-Assad forces..."

As we have seen elsewhere where the US and its NATO allies have intervened to change regimes in the Middle East, Christians are the first to be targeted. Yet many US Christians have swallowed the propaganda that these "democracy promoting" coups and invasions are somehow part of the glorious and positive march of history. They should look more closely, beyond the mainstream propaganda, and inform themselves better. Otherwise the blood will at least partly be on their hands — a stain that may perhaps mark their eternal souls as well.

There are in Syria the following Aramean denominations, namely:

West- Arameans: Syrian Orthodox, Syrian Catholics, Syrian Maronites, Syrian Greek Rum Orthodox, Syrian Greek Rum Catholics

East- Arameans: Chaldeans, Nestorian ("Assyrians")

They number to around 2 million (10%)
